Everyone's Saying The Same Thing About Josh Allen 'Concussion Cover-Up'

The Buffalo Bills will look to end their losing streak when they face the New York Jets on Monday night.

The Bills are coming off a disappointing 23-20 loss to the Houston Texans, which ended with a game-winning field goal from Kaimi Fairbarn as time expired.

Earlier in the fourth quarter, Josh Allen fell hard on his head when trying to escape a sack, and immediately looked unconscious on the ground. After leaving the game and being tested for a few minutes, the Bills and doctors decided he was cleared to play and let him back into the game after he missed just one offensive play.

After the game, many speculated if Buffalo made the wrong decision letting Allen back into the game so soon after such a serious-looking injury. In fact, many observers are saying they suspect a "cover-up'' of sorts - or at least some level of failure of the protocol.

However coach Sean McDermott was very confident that Allen was fully cleared to re-enter the game.

On Friday, the NFL and NFLPA released a joint statement after they conducted their own review of the situation.

"The NFL and NFLPA have received the reports from the Unaffiliated Neurotrama Consultant and Booth Spotters and those reports confirm that the steps required by the concussion protocol were followed in the evaluation and clearance of Bills quarterback Josh Allen in last Sunday's game," said the league and the union in the statement.

So, while Allen's injury did seem serious, it seems as though it looked much worse than it was, and the quarterback will be ready to go against New York.
