Steph Curry is the foundation upon which Golden State Warriors championship teams were built. The franchise is in transition now, with the all-time great hoping to lead it into another era of success ... so anything that goes just a little bit wrong is cause for concern.

And yes, that means that a Friday incident was, for a moment, a little bit concerning.

Warriors fans got themselves a scare entering the weekend when Curry was forced to exit the team’s preseason contest at home against the Sacramento Kings at Chase Center.

Curry started the game - a 109-106 win over the Northern California rivals - and he played 16 minutes in the first half. But late in the second quarter, the two-time NBA MVP left the game with a finger injury.

And yes, if you are a Warriors fan, you probably found yourself mumbling something worrisome.

Fortunately, as it turns out, the 10-time All-Star just jammed his finger - a non-uncommon basketball happening. He did shut it down for the night but then reportedly, after the game, engaged in his usual postgame work in the weight room.

“I was assured at halftime that it was fine," coach Steve Kerr said. "X-Rays were negative. It wasn’t anything too concerning. But yeah, you always get nervous when he's hurt.”

Curry is now considered day-to-day; we will monitor his availability to play when the Warriors return to action on Sunday against the Detroit Pistons.

As the Warriors moved to 3-0 in the preseason, Curry finished the game with six points and four assists on 2-of-7 shooting from the field.
