Kirk Herbstreit's dog Ben has become a major talking point among college football fans. Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders made his feelings clear to the analyst during an Oct. 12 interview on ESPN's "College GameDay."

Herbstreit has received backlash from some fans for taking Ben with him to stadiums across the country. There are other fans who have grown frustrated with Herbstreit frequently posting photos of Ben on his social media channels.

Yet, plenty of fans want even more Ben content from Herbstreit. Coach Prime made his feelings clear about both Herbstreit and the dog.

"First of all, I love you and the dog," Sanders told Herbstreit. "Let's just get that straight. Let's get that out of the way. I love you and the dog."

Herbstreit had asked Sanders about how Colorado matched up with the Kansas State Wildcats' physicality heading into the team's Big 12 matchup in Week 7. Coach Prime eventually answered Herbstreit's question.

"Secondly, the physicality in this game will be phenomenal," Sanders added. "You got two teams that kind of match. I like to think that we have some tremendous playmakers, but this team is well-coached.

"They don't make a lot of mistakes. They're not penalized a lot. So, we're going to have to beat them. They're not going to give us the game, by any means."

Now we know Sanders is "Team Ben" as the lovable dog continues to have a more prominent role next to Herbstreit on ESPN.

College football fans are also sending positive vibes to Ben as Herbstreit revealed the pup is battling leukemia and lymphoma.

"Ben has leukemia and lymphoma," Herbstreit noted in an Oct. 11 message on X. "Has since last March. OSU veterinary hospital has been incredible taking care of him."
