Seattle Seahawks land huge upgrade over Noah Fant with top tight end prospect in 2025 NFL mock draft

The Seattle Seahawks have no shortage of skill player talent on their roster. Geno Smith as a loaded wide receiver corps, a superb starting running back and a pretty decent receiing tight end, even if if hasn't always shone through this season. However, there's nothing wrong with adding another big pass-catching weapon to the arsenal.

In a new 2025 NFL mock draft from Josh Edwards at CBS Sports , the Seahawks use the 20th overall pick on the top tight end prospect in the draft, landing a huge upgrade over Noah Fant. That would be Colston Loveland from Michigan , where head coach Mike Macdonald served as their defensive coordinator in 2021. He just missed Loveland, who came in the following year, but there should be some familiarity there nonetheless.

"Seattle's coaching staff has familiarity with Colston Loveland. The tight end position was not overly important for offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb in Washington, but I wonder if changes may be on the horizon with Tyler Lockett's salary cap hit rising to nearly $31 million in 2025."

Loveland (6-foot-5, 245 pounds) has appeared in 34 games with the Wolverines so far, putting up 90 catches, 1,145 yards and eight touchdowns. The scouting report on Loveland gives him high marks for natural athleticism, route-running, awareness and blocking.

The Seahawks will have more pressing roster needs than a tight end upgrade, but if they are going to finish with the 20th overall pick in the draft a game-changing edge rusher or a reliably healthy star right tackle may be hard to find. Assuming his skillset translates to the next level, Loveland would in theory take the team's passing attack one step closer towards becoming an elite unit.
