Getting in shape can feel like an uphill battle. It takes grit, determination, and small sacrifices to get the bod you're after. Just ask Cinnamon the cat, whose fitness journey has just begun, and already, she's rethinking all of her life choices (relatable).

Luckily, Cinnamon's pet parents have the solution to making this grind a little more bearable, and yes, it involves food. But, hey—it works! Take a look at her progress!

The hilarious video shared by @heyitsgingerandpepper is so real to anyone who's ever tried to trim down. Cinnamon, who took a little while to warm up to the idea of using a treadmill, is one smarty kitty for teaching her pet parents that by giving half the effort, they will entice her with food. There's no other way to workout from now on. This is it.

"Cinnamon is unstoppable. Getting ready for summer 2025," the caption says and we just know she's going to slay. She certainly has the support of people around the world pulling for her.

"You can do it Cinnamon! I love you at any weight but I'm so excited to see your summer body!" one person wrote.

"Cinnamon is literally all of us right now lol," another joked.

"Aw sweetie that’s the perfect effort with the two front paws," another added, and we agree!

Keeping Your Cat's Weight in Check

A lot of us can relate to Cinnamon's weight woes, but for cats, a little extra poundage can lead to long-term health issues. The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) advises helping your cat lose weight can prevent diabetes, arthritis, and liver disease. There are a couple of approaches, one that cuts down on food, and the other by adding more exercise or activity into their lives.

For the food route, you can portion control their meals, choose the right, high-protein food, and limit excessive treats. Movement-wise, try utilizing more interactive play—about 20 minutes a day— and enrichment items like scratching posts, climbing trees, or anything that encourages your kitty to move their cute little bodies.

No matter how much weight your cat needs to cut , the AAHA adds that they shouldn't lose too quickly as cats are "susceptible to a serious condition called hepatic lipidosis, also known as fatty liver disease." This happens when weight comes off too fast and can be life-threatening. The recommended loss to aim for is 1-2% of their body weight per week.

As for Cinnamon, she's doing her best, and we're sure she's going to look and feel so great for summer 2025!
