Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers continued their winning streak and dominance over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Saturday afternoon.

After trailing 7-0 in the first quarter, the 10 th -ranked Tigers (5-1, 4-0 ACC) rolled to a 49-14 victory over the Demon Deacons (2-4, 1-2) at Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The dominance displayed by Clemson on Saturday pretty much sums up how the overall series with the Tigers has gone for Wake Forest since Swinney took over as Clemson’s head coach.

Swinney has still yet to lose to the Demon Deacons since becoming the Tigers’ head man. On Saturday, Clemson earned its 16th straight win in the series dating back to 2009.

When Clemson last lost to Wake Forest in 2008, it turned out to be Tommy Bowden’s final game as the Tigers’ head coach. Swinney was named the interim coach after that loss to the Demon Deacons, was promoted to full-time head coach following the season, and has defeated Wake Forest every year since then.

With Saturday’s win, the Tigers took sole possession of the longest winning streak in series history, passing their 15 from 1977-91. Clemson’s current 16-game winning streak against Wake Forest is the Tigers’ longest active winning streak against an ACC foe.

Clemson improved its all-time record against Wake Forest to 72-17-1. The Demon Deacons are now just one loss shy of being Clemson’s most-defeated opponent — trailing only South Carolina, which the Tigers have beaten 73 times.

On the bright side for Wake Forest, it won’t face Clemson again until 2030 due to ACC expansion after playing the Tigers every year from 1935-2024.

Clemson will return home next Saturday to host Virginia at Death Valley. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. on ACC Network.
