Belal Muhammad, Shavkat Rakhmonov Will Headline UFC 310

The UFC has begun booking its final pay-per-view event of the calendar year. At UFC 310, Belal Muhammad will look to defend the welterweight title against Shavkat Rakhmonov. In the co-main event, Alexandre Pantoja will put the flyweight title on the line against Kai Asukara. UFC CEO Dana White announced the news on social media .

UFC 310 will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada on Dec. 7, 2024. The event will be the UFC’s final pay-per-view event of 2024.

Muhammad’s title defense against Rakhmonov will be the first of his title reign. The champion earned the title at UFC 304 with a decision win against Leon Edwards. That victory also marked his ten consecutive victories.

Rakhmonov undoubtedly deserves a title fight. The 29-year-old, has an 18-0 professional record with six UFC wins. More impressively, he finished every fight. That includes ten submission wins and eight knockout victories.

The UFC 310 co-main event features a flyweight title fight between Pantoja and Asakura. Pantoja is beginning to establish a respectable title reign. The champion currently has two title defenses and a laundry list of wins over the division’s elite.

Asakura is one of the UFC’s top free-agent signings in recent years. The 30-year-old is one of the best flyweights fighting in major organizations outside of the UFC. Asakura is 21-4 in his professional MMA. The majority of this experience came in RIZIN where he went 13-3. In his tenure, he was a two-time bantamweight champion in the organization.

UFC 310 will also feature a handful of other high-profile fights. This includes a heavyweight matchup between Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov, a featherweight bout between Aljamain Sterling and Mosvar Evloev, and a welterweight bout between Nick Diaz and Vicente Luque, among other fights.
