Borzoi Lists Ups and Downs of Having a Puppy Sibling and One Side’s Definitely Longer

Dogs are pack animals, and most enjoy having a four-legged friend or two around to be part of the gang. Whether it’s someone to cuddle, play, or bark at squirrels with, this constant companion can lift their spirits and keep them company while we’re out.

However, it’s also fair to assume that having a sibling also comes with challenges. As this beautiful Borzoi points out, there are indeed a few.

Listen to her pros and cons about having a new family member in this video shared on October 5:

It’s not easy to be an older sibling, but Cleo (@ cleolonglegs ) is doing a terrific job! Thankfully, all the effort also comes with a few pretty great perks. For example, as the middle child in the household, she gets to do a lot of body slamming with her little sister and some good biting. She also gets to show off her impressive moves, like side kicks, and she has someone to talk smack about. But like anything, this job also comes with several cons. This puppy is much too bouncy, which is probably one reason she always has the hiccups. Marceline also puts her tiny mouth’s “Puppy juices” all over her belongings and constantly breaks the wind. LOL! This little pup is also unfamiliar with personal space and, in addition to having a rat tail, is quite a tattletale. Finally, it’s a tough day when they have to be told that they are, in fact, adopted. Ha! At some point, she’ll be old enough to understand that her older siblings were as well, but that doesn’t make them any less of a family.

Do Borzois Get Along with Other Dogs?

As with any breed, each dog is an individual and has their preferences, which can often be influenced by early socialization . However, Rezance Borzoi reports they tent to get along well with dogs of any breed, especially other sighthounds and Borzois . The type of play can also be a factor, and while some are not tolerant of roughhousing, others are happy to take a roll in the mud .

People understood where this middle child was coming from. Viewer @shandaderilus remarked, “The pro/con ratio is a little unfair, I fear. Being Bouncy should be right between pro and con, haha!” Good point. Viewer @pineappleandaboxoflightbulbs responded, “Cleo becoming a middle child and losing baby status must be truly devastating, lol.” She appears to handle it well, even if she has a few grievances.

Although having a younger sibling can be challenging, it also means there’s someone else to blame for any mischief. That alone can undoubtedly outweigh any potential cons.
