FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys opened up the window this week - but on Saturday opted to not have DaRon Bland climb through it.

Bland, working his way back from a late-summer injury, is eligible to return to the field. But the Dallas medical staff is overseeing a decision that will mean his debut will remain on hold.

So, the Pro Bowler who last year led the NFL in interceptions is not being added to the 53-man roster this week as the Cowboys are set to play host to the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

With the bye next week, Bland - as is the case with teammate Micah Parsons, who is out this week with his high ankle sprain - will get extra time to rehab and Bland is therefore likely to be active for the San Francisco game after the bye.

The Cowboys - who do have cornerbacks Trevon Diggs and Caelen Carson ready to go after some injury issues this week - have elevated corner Amani Oruwariye to help. Also coming up: linebacker Darius Harris from the practice squad, as the Cowboys starting middle linebacker Eric Kendricks is dealing with injuries this week.

We discuss the Cowboys injury situation and much more inside the Fish Report here as we get you ready for the Lions visit to AT&T Stadium on Sunday.
