The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a forecast for the weekend, predicting breezy conditions along with chances for isolated showers, particularly in northeastern California and northwestern Nevada. As an upper air low moves eastward from southern Oregon, residents can expect cooler temperatures over the weekend, with highs in the middle to upper 70s in valley areas and 60s to lower 70s in the Sierra communities.

Today, isolated showers are likely to continue throughout Lassen, Plumas, and Washoe Counties, tapering off this evening as the upper low progresses eastward. While the bulk of the region will remain dry, gusty westerly winds may reach up to 25 mph this afternoon, calming into the night. Overnight low temperatures are forecasted to range from the mid-30s to mid-40s in valleys and from the lower 30s to lower 40s in higher elevations.

Looking ahead, the workweek will bring a warming trend as high pressure establishes itself over the region. By Tuesday, daytime highs are expected to rise back into the 80s, with dry conditions prevailing. Although minimum relative humidity levels may drop into the teens on Monday and Tuesday, lighter winds are anticipated to mitigate any significant fire weather concerns.
