Remember those days when we used to fold little paper notes in class, secretly passing them to friends behind the teacher's back? Or how about those fortune tellers we'd fold up, predicting everything from our crushes to our lucky day of the week? Well, it's time to put those skills to good use again—only this time, we're bringing those fanciful folding skills into the kitchen to help you host a next-level dinner party .

A recent Instagram reel from @thousandsoftips shows us just how easy it is to make cute little snack bowls out of paper napkins. Once we started down the paper napkin snack bowl we also saw more tutorials, including one from @innova.crafts, which helped us feel even more confident that we could pull this off at home. After making a few of these, we're happy to report the process couldn't be easier and the results are really adorable. This quick and easy craft is perfect for fall entertaining season and all of the holiday parties on the horizon. Here's what you need to know.

All you need to make these cuties is a large paper napkin (mine measured 6 1/2 by 6 1/4 inches), a drinking glass and about 30 seconds of your time. One note: This craft works best with square paper napkins and make sure that if you use a patterned napkin the pattern is all over one side (vs. just printed on one square).

Begin by unfolding the napkin fully and turning it pattern-side down. Fold the four corners to the center, then repeat the process again. Flip the whole thing over and, being careful to keep your folds intact (something I found was a struggle with a thinner napkin), fold the four tips to the center again. Then, take your folded napkin and place the center of the napkin over the center of your drinking glass (this can be the bottom or top of the glass). Carefully open the layers of the folds one at a time going around in a circle, press on the glass to make a little divot for your snacks, then remove. Voilà!

What I Thought of the Paper Napkin Snack Bowls

These DIY snack bowls are perfect for turning your party spread into an art show, one fold at a time. Following the video tutorial (and pausing it periodically to catch up!), I successfully made a whole slew of these little paper flower bowls. Thanks to 8th-grade study hall I had a point of reference for the process and as I made more and more of these the process got easier and easier. Depending on the pattern of your napkins, not only are these super cute single-serve bowls but they could also be used for crafting or home decor (I'm thinking of a bouquet of tissue paper flowers next).

I used some football-printed napkins because, well, 'tis the season. I'm confident these are going to be absolutely adorable at my next party or movie night gathering. And the best part of all? No dishes after the party! Try it for yourself and get ready for the compliments. Snack time just got a whole lot more fun.
