Authorities are hunting for a serial killer called The Butcher and have rigged the concert into an elaborate trap to catch them. However, there’s more to The Butcher than meets the eye, and no one is ready. Trap was released in theaters on August 2nd and stars Josh Hartnett and Ariel Donoghue. It also made $6.7 million on opening night at the box office.

‘Mother’s Instinct’

This thriller movie starring Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain was released in theaters in April. Alice (Chastian) and Céline (Hathaway) are best friends and mothers. They live a traditional life with hard-working husbands and sons who are the same age. However, a tragic accident disrupts the harmony of their idyllic life. Their guilt, paranoia, and suspicion begin to break their tight bond. This causes Alice to begin to question her own sanity and how well she really knows Céline. Mother’s Instinct made $3.4 million at the box office and was directed by Benoît Delhomme.

‘Longlegs’

One of the most anticipated thriller movies in 2024, Longlegs met mixed reviews from critics. Rookie FBI Agent Lee Harker is put on assignment for a string of unsolved murders. Believed to be committed by a hard-to-catch serial killer, Longlegs. As the case takes an unexpected twist, Harker finds she is connected with the killer. Now, it’s a race against time to stop him before he takes the lives of another family. Directed by Osgood Perkins, it made a record-breaking $22.6 million at the box office. Longlegs stars Nicholas Cage as the killer and Maika Monroe as Harker.

‘Blink Twice’

Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut, Blink Twice, was released in theaters in late August. Sparks fly when cocktail waitress Frida meets tech billionaire Slater King at an event. She soon receives an invitation to his private island for an extravagant party. When in paradise, Frida indulges in all the luxuries around her, including sun-soaked days and wild nights. Soon, the days began to blend, making Frida question her safety and sanity. Feeling something is wrong with the island, she sets out to uncover the truth to save herself. Blink Twice made $46.4 million at the box office and stars Channing Tatum and Naomi Ackie.

‘Monkey Man’

Starring and directed by Dev Patel, Monkey Man is based on the legend of Hanuman. The kid (Patel) spends his nights in an underground fighting ring. Where he dawns a monkey mask and is beaten by famous fighters to make ends meet. Suppressing his rage for years, Kid discovers a way to infiltrate the city’s corrupt leaders. To get his revenge on those who murdered his mother and continue to victim the poor and powerless. Monkey Man was released in theaters in early April and made $35 million at the box office. Jordan Peele also produced it.
