    Fraudsters are taking the care out of Medicare. Kayla Palmore, with the Better Business Bureau Tip-Off to the Rip-Off on WBBM, has the details.

    Open enrollment for Medicare began this week and runs through Dec. 7, and no one watches this calendar more than fraudsters — who see an opportunity to steal vital information and big money.

    Anyone eligible for Medicare benefits should be wary of calls, texts or emails about special offers to enroll with them.

    Medicare only calls or sends emails to people who already are enrolled in the program.

    Be on guard for all kinds of schemes to get your personal Medicare information.

    Con artists will be deceiving people with false claims of helping with cheaper and better plans and express sign up decline all promotional gift offers in exchange for personal information and talk over plans with trusted advisors or family.
