Knicks' Mindset Not Changing Despite Roster Turnover

Few coaches in the NBA have the kind of pedigree of no-nonse quite like New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau.

Despite not winning a championship with New York in the last three seasons, Thibodeau has been a part of a significant rebuild for the basketball franchise while keeping the focus always on moving forward.

With the Knicks now seen as a championship contender, Thibodeau is making sure that his roster is sustaining the right mindset moving forward.

Even with some new faces to the group.

“It’s so important to establish routines because, in the NBA, there’s something almost every night. So you don’t want to get caught up in the hoopla. Just focus in on, ‘OK, this is how I get ready to play,’ and you go step by step," Thibodeaux explained.

“Don’t get distracted. And it’s easy to get distracted. There’s a million things going on in this league all the time. Guys change teams all the time. Just be locked into what you have to do to help your team win.”

New York's mindset may be true, but they haven't been among the hunted across the league in years. It's why they need to make sure their mindset is unrelenting no matter who is on the schedule in 2024.
