David Pollack Says Big Ten Team Got 'Absolutely Hosed' By Officials in Overtime Loss

College football analyst David Pollack is not happy with the officials that called No. 4 Penn State's 33-30 overtime win over USC on Saturday afternoon.

James Franklin's undefeated Nittany Lions entered the Big Ten battle as narrow 3.5-point road favorites, per ESPN Bet, over Lincoln Riley and the 3-2 Trojans. But USC looked like the much better team in the first half, holding a 20-6 lead at the break. Penn State did not fold, though, and mounted an epic comeback.

Penn State tied the game at 30 with three minutes remaining thanks to a touchdown pass from Drew Allar. With an opportunity to put more points on the board, USC faltered with an interception by star quarterback Miller Moss. Adding to the drama, Allar responded with an interception of his own which forced the game into overtime.

Pollack's issue with the officials came on USC's drive in overtime. Moss attempted a pass to receiver Makai Lemon, who appeared to be held by Penn State cornerback Zion Tracy.  After a three-yard rush on second down, Moss' third-down attempt to Zion Branch drew more controversy, as Penn State cornerback Cam Miller seemingly made contact early.

The officials did not flag either play for holding or pass interference, and USC ultimately missed the field goal attempt on fourth down.

Penn State went on to make the game-winning field goal on the ensuing possession.

"I’m not gonna lie, USC just got absolutely hosed," Pollack wrote . "Penn State got away with two PI’s in OT on that first possession. One of the 2 have to be called. Man that’s bad."

USC drops to 3-3 and 1-3 in conference play with the loss to Penn State. The Trojans were previously ranked as high as No. 11 in the AP Poll before two straight losses to Minnesota and the Nittany Lions. USC will take on Maryland next week before welcoming Rutgers on Oct 25.

Penn State moves to 6-0 and 3-0 in conference play after escaping LA Memorial Coliseum with the overtime win. Franklin and company will take on Wisconsin on Oct. 26 before traveling to No. 2 Ohio State on Nov. 2.
