Texas Majorly Disrespects Oklahoma Following Red River Rivalry Win

Oklahoma and Texas consistently provide incredible matchups. The environment at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX, is next-level as the stadium, which holds north of 90,000 fans, is split down the middle with crimson and burnt orange.

The Red River Rivalry, which began in 1900 and has been played for 95 straight seasons, is unforgiving. The players and fans don't care what happened the year before or what will be next, but only what happens in any given season.

Last year, the Sooners won on a game-winning drive led by Dillon Gabriel. This year was reminiscent of 2022, when the Longhorns dominated Oklahoma. Texas defeated the Sooners 34-3 to earn the gold cowboy hat back once again.

Quinn Ewers returned to the gridiron as the Longhorns' wealth of experience was simply too much for the Sooners. Led by true freshman quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr., Oklahoma's offense couldn't get the ball moving.

After a tough loss a season ago, Texas more than earned the right to trash talk for the year. The dominant victory had to be a great feeling for the players, who didn't take long to start the disrespect.

Following the win, a couple of Texas players not only planted a Longhorns flag in the middle of the field, but made sure it went through a Baker Mayfield jersey from his time at Oklahoma.

Mayfield planted a flag in a big victory against Ohio State many, many years ago, and Texas is mocking the Sooners legend.

The disrespect didn't stop there, though. After the win last year, Oklahoma star linebacker Danny Stutsman had a memorable quote, claiming Texas fears Oklahoma while the Sooners only fear God.

This year, Texas claimed they fear nobody, as Anthony Hill Jr. claimed on social media after the game while holding the Mayfield jersey.
