Oregon Wide Receiver Ejected For Disgusting Act Towards Ohio State Player

Week 7 brought us the second top-five matchup of the 2024 college football season as the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes traveled to the West Coast to face the No. 3 Oregon Ducks in a new Big Ten battle.

At the 11:31 mark of the second quarter, Oregon wide receiver Traeshon Holden was going one-on-one with Ohio State cornerback Davison Igbinosun. After the play was ruled dead, Holden and Igbinosun had a few words for each other before the Ducks receiver spat in Igbinosun's face.

In such a pivotal game, this poor decision by Holden left the officials no choice but to eject the receiver, forcing him to miss the final 40 minutes of play.

Holden, a 6-foot-3 senior from Kissimmee, Florida, has been the Ducks' second-most efficient pass-catcher to start the season, behind fellow wideout Tez Johnson. In five games, Holden has recorded 19 catches for 274 yards and three touchdowns. Before he transferred to Oregon in 2023, Holden played for Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2021 and 2022.

Going into the game, both the Ducks and the Buckeyes sat with a 5-0 record and 2-0 in Big Ten play. The winner of the game is likely to get the No. 2 spot in the next AP poll, with the Texas Longhorns expected to remain at the top following their win over Oklahoma.
