Oklahoma Sooners' offensive coordinator situation only gets worse in the locker room after the loss to Texas

Fans and media are all in agreeance that the Oklahoma Sooners ' 34-3 loss to the Texas Longhorns on Saturday was worse than the 49-0 loss in 2022. And, that's a fair assessment, because, in 2022, there were enough fair excuses to make for this team, whereas this year, there really isn't anything you can say.

The offense could barely move the ball, and it made the defense look bad when in reality the defense was great. That's the main issue, and everyone knows it. No, it's not just a quarterback issue, while both quarterbacks do indeed need to be better. No, it's not just an injury issue, while that is a pretty big deal.

It's an offensive issue as a whole. The scheme is terrible, especially the run scheme, where there were too many plays that saw the Sooners working against themselves with the play developing. You cannot have a run play go one direction three yards backward, and then reverse that and think you will get any yardage when the offensive line is at an obvious disadvantage in this game.

The issue comes down to offensive coordinator Seth Littrell, who, I'll just say it, will likely be let go at the end of the year. Brent Venables' legacy at Oklahoma will now be saved if he can create an offense. If he can't, he won't be any better than Lincoln Riley, who built a great offense but had a horrible defense, but at least made the playoffs before.

Seth Littrell, the offensive coordinator, is not the answer to these offensive problems. The product they put on the field on Saturday, with the time they had to prep, is pretty much unacceptable to all Sooners fans and media members.

And, it didn't get any better after the game. In fact, a lot of fans will not want to hear this.

According to Bob Przybylo, tight end Bauer Sharp was asked what the message was to the offense in the locker room after the game from Littrell, and Sharp explained that Littrell didn't talk at all.

There will need to be some changes made somewhere, or they could lose almost every game left on their schedule.

It was a great loss anytime OU lost to Texas. It just makes for a great day. Can you say seya from Arnold he won't be around much longer he wants to play for a winner, not a team that may go 500 or just a little above. Sorry Sooner fans. There's no chance at a National Championship this year.
