Texas Linebacker Has Three-Word Message After Red River Rivalry Win Over Oklahoma

In one of the most highly-anticipated matchups of the Week 7 college football slate, the No. 1 Texas Longhorns and the No. 18 Oklahoma Sooners faced off in the annual Red River Rivalry.

The series dates back to 1900 and features two of college football's premier programs. While Oklahoma had won seven of the last 10 meetings heading into Saturday, they came into this one as major underdogs. As for Texas, the program is clicking at an elite level, garnering the top ranking in college football for the first time since 2009, and came into this game with revenge on their minds.

Led by now-Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel, the Sooners took down Texas in the final few seconds of the game in 2023, and Oklahoma made sure to let everyone know. In fact, star linebacker Danny Stutsman made t-shirts that said , "Oklahoma only fears God, Texas fears Oklahoma."

A shirt that went viral at the time was on Texas' mind as star linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. rebutted with a quote of his own on Saturday after the 34-3 win. Hill took to social media to post a ripped Oklahoma Baker Mayfield jersey and the caption, "Texas fears nobody."

While it remains unclear how or why Hill and Texas ended up with a jersey of an Oklahoma quarterback who last suited up at the college ranks in the 2017 season, it is known what Texas did to the jersey after the win.

On top of planting the team's flag on it at midfield, they also shot their cannon through it.

As for Hill, he addressed the jersey antics and the social media post after the game when speaking to the media.

"I just feel like it was the right thing for me to do," Hill said . "I seen all the stuff they posted last year so I feel like it was right for me to just get a touch of something on them."

Hill had a great day in Dallas, finishing the game with 11 total tackles, two sacks and 3.5 tackles for a loss.

Texas remains the lone undefeated team in the SEC and will take on the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs next week in Austin with ESPN's "College GameDay" in attendance. The Sooners will welcome the South Carolina Gamecocks, which narrowly upset No. 7 Alabama on Saturday.
