    Wild blow three leads and lose to Seattle in shootout

    Seattle rallied from deficits of 2-0, 3-2 and 4-3 to force overtime and then they rallied again in the shootout to leave Minnesota with a 5-4 victory over the Wild.

    In the shootout, Mats Zuccarello put Minnesota up 1-0 but the Kraken responded with back-to-back shootout goals against Marc-Andre Fleury, the second coming from Jordan Eberle, who also had two goals in regulation. Kirill Kaprizov hit the post on his shootout attempt and Matt Boldy missed to end the game.

    How'd they get to a shootout? Let's break it down...

    Minnesota got on the board first when Zuccarello scored at 9:22 of the opening period. It was his second goal is an many games to start the season and was assisted Kaprizov and Marco Rossi.

    Boldy's second goal in as many games made it 2-0 early in the second period, but then back came the Kraken. Eberle scored 40 seconds after Boldy and then after a tripping call on Jonas Brodin, Eberle scored on a power play to tie the game 2-2.

    It stayed 2-2 until Kaprizov scored his first of the season 1:41 into the third period. But 66 seconds later the Kraken go the equalizer from Tye Kartye.

    Minnesota then went up 4-3 on Ryan Hartman's goal with 7:27 left in the third period, only to once again surrender the lead to Seattle on a Jared McCann slap shot that beat Fleury on a delayed penalty with 3:36 remaining.

    The Wild now hit the road for seven consecutive road games that will keep them away from home until November. The lengthy road trip starts Sunday at 5 p.m. CT against the Winnipeg Jets.
