Colorado star Travis Hunter left Saturday night's game against Kansas State in the first half and went to the locker room after suffering an apparent shoulder injury in the second quarter. Hunter is the No. 1 player in the 2025 CBS Sports NFL Draft Prospect Rankings and is a Heisman Trophy contender.

The two-way star had three receptions for 26 yards and a tackle when he exited with the game tied at 7-7. At the time of his departure, Hunter had been on the field for 44 of the game's 45 offensive and defensive snaps, according to ESPN.

Hunter's durability has become a topic of conversation over the past two seasons as he's shined for Colorado on both offense and defense. He is one of the most skilled receivers and the nation and also one of the top cornerbacks. But his high volume of snaps is unprecedented in the modern era and brings an obvious injury risk for the slender-framed star.

Given that he's an elite receiver and an elite cornerback, there is no consensus over what Hunter will be at the next level. For now, he's electric on both sides of the football at the college level. Hunter entered Saturday night's game with five interceptions in 14 career games with the Buffaloes.

He is also a game-changing receiver who had amassed 1,282 yards and 11 touchdowns in his time with the program entering Saturday's action. This season alone, he's game-clinching plays on both sides of the Buffaloes.

CBS Sports will update this story as more becomes available on Hunter's condition.
