Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Will Howard's awareness rating in EA Sports College Football likely took a big hit on Saturday night against the Oregon Ducks.

Howard made one of the most ill-timed blunders imaginable as the Buckeyes trailed 32-31 with six seconds remaining. Ohio State was just inside Oregon's 40-yard line, so they were attempting to gain a few yards to set up an easier potential game-winning field goal.

Instead, Howard took off to run and lost track of the time remaining, sliding down just inside the 30-yard line as the clock struck zero. Howard and the rest of the Ohio State players attempted to call timeout immediately, but it was too little, too late.

Here's a look at how the final play unfolded :

The ill-timed blunder stunned the college football world, and Howard immediately heard about it on social media from fans.

The comparisons to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott's playoff blunder against the San Francisco 49ers were a popular (and fair) response from fans.

When looking at the two moments side-by-side , Prescott and Howard's plays for the Cowboys and Buckeyes were eerily similar.

Even general college football fans chimed in while trolling the Ohio State signal-caller.

The brutal final play overshadowed Howard's impressive game. He completed 28-of-35 passes for 326 yards and two touchdowns against an Oregon defense ranked in the top 20 nationally against the pass.

However, Oregon and quarterback Dillon Gabriel stepped up when it mattered most, scoring 10 points over their final two possessions to take a late lead.

Gabriel also had a big night, completing 23-of-34 passes for 341 yards and two touchdowns. Oregon's star running back Jordan James racked up 115 rushing yards and one touchdown against a Buckeyes team that had allowed the third-fewest rushing yards per game this season (72.6).

I didn't have a good feeling from the beginning of this game. It's funny that the Ducks kicker acted like it was unintentional to side kick the ball and instead of the Ohio State player just falling on it, not really his fault, the Ducks got the ball back.
