Opposing QB Humiliates Deion Sanders After TD Against Colorado

The Colorado Buffaloes (4-1) played host to the No. 18-ranked Kansas State Wildcats at Folsom Field on Saturday night.

With under one minute remaining in the first quarter and Colorado leading 7-0, Kansas State quarterback Avery Johnson scored an awkward-looking eight-yard rushing touchdown to even the score.

After avoiding a cornerback blitz on fourth-and-4, Johnson scrambled left before stumbling forward into the end zone.

When he stood up, the sophomore signal-caller broke out an infamous Deion Sanders celebration dance , taking a dig at the Pro Football Hall of Famer on his home turf.

Sanders, one of the most dynamic playmakers in NFL history, frequently broke out the iconic shuffle after scoring touchdowns, which he did 23 times throughout his 14 seasons as a pro.

"Avery Johnson earned the right to dance after he dodged this blitz like it was nothing," Kansas State beat writer Kellis Robinett wrote on X.

"I'm 100% here for this but dude couldn't look less cool crossing the goal line like that. Maybe save it until after the next TD," a fan wrote .

Through his first five games this season, Johnson has passed for 879 yards, nine touchdowns and four interceptions while completing 61.1% of his attempts. After running for seven touchdowns as a freshman, he's scored two this season, adding 321 yards on the ground.

Sanders and his Colorado squad entered Saturday's Week 7 home matchup as 3.5-point underdogs, according to ESPN BET, but are riding a three-game winning streak, including a 48-21 upset at UCF last week.
