Deion Sanders Rips Son's Performance After Loss to Kansas State

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders had no filter when evaluating his son Shilo Sanders’ play in Saturday’s game against Kansas State.

Shilo returned to the field after a month-long absence due to a broken forearm, finishing with seven tackles. However, his performance was not without flaws. He missed several tackles and became the subject of a viral clip after Kansas State running back DJ Giddens put him on skates with an ankle-breaking move.

When asked about Shilo’s return to action, Deion Sanders didn’t sugarcoat his assessment.

"I thought he played horrible. I thought he was rusty. I thought he didn't have his footing," Deion Sanders said. "But he's gonna do better."

Colorado found itself trailing 21-7 in the third quarter but mounted an impressive comeback to take the lead with just over three minutes remaining. The momentum was short-lived, though, as Kansas State responded swiftly, covering 84 yards in just three plays to reclaim the lead.

With one final opportunity, the Buffaloes aimed to drive for a game-tying field goal or a potential game-winning touchdown, but their efforts fell short, turning the ball over on downs.

“We took a shot at the end of the game, but didn’t come up with it. Game over," Deion Sanders said. "We shouldn’t have been in that situation."

Colorado fell to 4-2 with the loss. Sanders and the Buffaloes head to Arizona next week.
