    Tweets Of The Day

Michigan was off with a bye weekend, but college football was crazy once again. As pointed out by Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger, seven top-25 teams either won in OT, by 2 points or by 1 point. That included some future Michigan opponents.

Illinois led 24-3 at halftime but allowed Purdue to come all the way back and force overtime at 43-43. The Fighting Illini scored a touchdown and made their field goal, before the Boilermakers notched a touchdown but missed on their two point conversion attempt to win the game.

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day, meanwhile, is now 1-7 against Associated Press top 25 opponents, with his Buckeyes falling 32-31 at Oregon. Ohio State was driving for a chance to win the game but ran out of time.

Michigan baseball played Eastern Michigan in a fall ball game and won 29-3.

Michigan hockey lost its shootout to Arizona State. The game went to overtime at 3-3. Here are three key notes of the game from MGoBlue.com:

    • Michael Hage scored Michigan’s third goal; the freshman has points in all four games this season.
    • Garrett Schifsky continued his strong weekend by recording his first assist of the year.
    • Cameron Korpi made 28 saves in 65 minutes of play between the pipes.

    Quote Of The Day

“He has a lot of energy. He’s coming after me hard. I appreciate all the love he shows me. He’s always calling me and texting me. He wishes me luck and gives me tips. I like where we’re headed right now. I like the relationship.”
