Miami looks to remain undefeated as the Hurricanes travel to Louisville fresh off its bye week to take on the Cardinals in an ACC matchup.

Louisville was an early favorite this season to return to the conference championship game in 2024 but lost two in a row after a 3-0 start. Meanwhile, no team has proven that they can slow down Cam Ward and this high-powered ‘Canes offense.

Cam Ward will be the x-factor in Saturday’s matchup for both Miami offensively and Louisville on the defensive end. No team has been able to stifle the Hurricanes this season, scoring 38 or more points in all six of their wins.

Ward has been as advertised, completing 148 of 214 (69.2%) for 2,219 yards, 20 touchdowns and five interceptions. The Washington State transfer has added 161 rushing yards and three additional touchdowns to those totals as well.

For the Cardinals, they’ve faced one ranked opponent this season and fell short 31-24 against Notre Dame . The UL defense allowed just 280 yards during the contest, but Louisville struggled to hold onto the football on offense with three turnovers and six penalties halting their offensive production.

Louisville’s offense will likely have to keep pace with Miami’s if they want to pull off the upset. Miami’s defense is allowing 36 points in ACC play through two games. Given that Louisville has shown his ability to score early in games, there’s a chance the Cardinals may catch the Hurricanes’ defense off guard.

Still, there’s no denying how tough the Louisville defense will have it against Cam Ward on Saturday. How he fares on the road will likely dictate the pace of the game.
