The Big 12 is well into its new era as a conference, shaping up to be a fun race to AT&T Stadium in Arlington. However, Saturday’s matchup between Arizona and Colorado will be an old-school Pac-12 showdown just with different logos on the jerseys. A familiar face in a new league.

Still a few days before the two teams take the field, an early point spread has been released. Arizona is favored by 3.5 points over Colorado. You can get the Buffaloes on the money line at +136, while Brent Brennan ‘s squad is -164. The game total sits at 56.5.

Both teams are coming off a loss, with Arizona losing to BYU in Provo while Kansas State went on the road to take down Colorado. Getting back on the right track and finding a way to get a Big 12 win is critical for both programs. A few programs are beginning to emerge at the top of the Big 12 and adding another loss to the resume would be detrimental.

The series history between Arizona and Colorado goes back to 1931, with 26 total matchups taking place. However, most of those have been played in recent years when they were members of the Pac-12. After a 25-year hiatus, the series came back and was played annually from 2011-2023 — continuing on Saturday.

Despite being in different conferences, there was a stretch of games played between the two from 1952 to 1960. A home-and-home series did take place in the mid-1980s but never materialized again until conference realignment took over.

Colorado has the overall lead 16-10 but since coming back in 2011, Arizona has won nine of 13 games. Two of those have come consecutively as the Wildcats look to extend their head-to-head win streak to three games. Last year’s game was a three-point loss for Deion Sanders .
