There are few things better than bacon . It's a breakfast VIP , the star of a BLT and the crispy, salty, porky meat that makes pretty much anything better. What's not as charming? The Best Way to Freeze Bacon

"Freezing is a great way to preserve bacon, but if it's frozen into a solid slab, it's impossible to remove just a few slices when needed," explains Associate Editor Eric Haessler in the video.

Eric goes on to say that rolling the bacon strips is the way to solve this dilemma, which is so simple and so smart.

You just separate the strips and roll them individually, starting from one end and going to the other. The bacon strips will look like little rosettes. Then you can place them all in a large Ziploc bag. This will allow you to get the exact number of strips that you want without having to thaw all of them.

"I like to cook the whole package up and then freeze them. Pull out a frozen slice and enjoy straight from the freezer or warm up in the microwave on the defrost setting!" someone commented on the Instagram post. That's an interesting way to freeze leftover bacon, too!

"Bacon is meant to be eaten a pound at a time," someone else joked on the post. While we generally eat it that way, this rolling tip is great for those times people have leftover bacon.

"What a great idea! I’m going to try it this week," another person added. We agree! This is a great tip to have in your back pocket for whenever you need it.

"This is one of my favorite bacon tips," someone else chimed in. We love it, too!

There were some naysayers on this hack, though. One person said they dislike the rolled bacon because they have to wait for it to defrost to straighten it and cook.

"I keep it flat, strips of parchment paper in between each slice. Separates easy. Cook from frozen in oven. Perfect strips every time," one commenter said.

"I accordion fold it in parchment paper, works great," another added.

Whether you roll it or use parchment paper, these are great tips for freezing bacon so you can enjoy it however and whenever you'd like.
