    'Black Panther' Star Chadwick Boseman Respected His Fans & Friends: A Look Back At His Tragic Death

    It's been four years since the tragic death of Black Panther film star Chadwick Boseman. The beloved actor succumbed to colon cancer on August 28, 2020, in Los Angeles. He delivered several iconic performances of real-life figures such as James Brown, Jackie Robinson, and Thurgood Marshall. He was only 43 years old, and this is his story.

    Chadwick Aaron Boseman was born November 29, 1977, in South Carolina and went on to attend Howard University in Washington, D.C., graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in directing. He then attended the British American Drama Academy in Oxford, England.

    Decades later, in 2018, Boseman delivered the commencement speech at Howard and received an honorary degree, Doctor of Humane Letters.

    His Tragic Diagnosis and the Respect He Had For His Colleagues and Fans

    Chadwick Boseman kept his colon cancer diagnosis private so as not to detract enjoyment from his colleagues and fans concerning his work.

    Boseman was thrilled to be part of the super-popular superhero Marvel Cinematic Universe, in which he portrayed T'Challa (i.e., Black Panther).

    However, Boseman was also affiliated with other feature films including Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (for which he received an Academy Award nomination and director Spike Lee's Da 5 Bloods.

    Boseman also delivered an acclaimed performance as soul music legend James Brown in Get on Up, and America's first African-American justice on the Supreme Court in Marshall.
