ALL of St. Petersburg and surrounding communities, including Gulfport and South Pasadena, are under the SAME water restriction order. Additionally, a BOIL WATER order was also advised for drinking water, for pets, for brushing teeth, etc. Portable water for beach areas was cut off early to avoid potential contamination. The same precaution applied to St. Petersburg. A main pipe burst in St. Petersburg during Hurricane Milton, complicating the immediate return of household water. The break was repaired yet contamination, apparently, entered the system. Water has been turned on, but the system needs to repressurize and flush out any contaminants that could sicken people and pets. Water pressure has been and remains quite low, barely a trickle.
