Mini Dachshund Throws Epic Tantrum When Mom Takes Too Long to Get Ready for Bed

For a species who doesn't conceptualize time the way that humans do, some dogs sure tend to be picky about following a schedule. If you have one of those dogs, you know what it's like. You can't be more than a minute or two late (if that) to serving them dinner, or you are going to hear about it. You have to follow the routine, or there will be a riot and a lot of attitude hurled your way. They are creatures of habit, but also, they can be a bit bossy too!

That seems to apply to the Mini Dachshund pup in this TikTok video. This sweet boy is beyond ready for bed, and the fact that his mom is simply taking her time getting on the same page as he is about their day being over is driving him up a wall.

Here, we see @teenieweenie.finn , a Mini Dachshund pup named Finn who is more than ready to tuck in for the night and has zero patience for his mom in this moment. Doesn't she know how important getting a good night's sleep is?!

According to what she wrote in the video, all of this attitude was because she wasn't ready for bed yet. He is throwing that tail around like a dog version of stomping his feet, and that facial expression is pure annoyance. He means business and he is not impressed that his mom is just laughing at him!

Finally, he tries a different approach. Curling up into a little doggie circle on the bed, Finn gives his mom the puppy dog eyes that we are all too familiar with! But when not even that is enough to get her to move things along, he starts barking.

Don't push this dog past his limit! He's had about enough!

How Much Sleep Do Dogs Need?

It's totally possible that Finn didn't get to nap as much as he normally would during the day and that's why he's so grouchy about bedtime — or maybe he was just ready to go to sleep and has a sassy personality.

Either way, Rover reports that dogs typically need about 11-12 hours per sleep every day, which includes their daytime naps and night time sleep (puppies will need more like 16 hours per day as they grow).

As long as your dog is meeting those requirements spread out throughout the day and night, you can rest assured they're getting plenty of sleep... but that doesn't mean they won't bug you not to be late to their bedtime appointment!

This mom learned that lesson the hard way. Whatever you do, don't leave Finn waiting!
