The Colorado Buffaloes fought hard but ultimately fell short, losing 31-28 to the No. 18 Kansas State Wildcats . Head coach Deion Sanders emphasized their efforts in the postgame discussion, but the absence of star player Travis Hunter proved critical.

Hunter exited the game with a shoulder injury and did not return, leaving a significant gap on both offense and defense. The Buffaloes also faced challenges with wide receiver Jimmy Horn, who left the game due to injury.

Sanders commented postgame on the impact of not having Hunter and Horn available for the rest of the game after leaving in the first half.

"Certainly, losing Travis and Jimmy [Horn] and others was tremendous because they're a vital part of our team, a vital part of our identity. They're a vital part of who we are. So that took a blow. That took a lot out of us."

Sanders mentioned that he hasn't received significant updates on the statuses of Travis Hunter or Jimmy Horn. However, he did note that Horn was seen in a walking boot after the game.

Before leaving with an injury around the five-minute mark of the second quarter, Horn had recorded three receptions for 26 yards. His absence was felt on defense as well, where his shutdown skills would have been crucial in containing the Wildcats, who extended their lead during that time.

Despite this, the Buffaloes rallied, outscoring Kansas State 14-7 in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to three points. However, the pressing concern remains the condition of Heisman hopeful Travis Hunter.

This just shows how rigorous the game is. It also shows while TH is very exciting to watch he has physical limitations. Fatigue gives way to injury and TH unfortunately got injured in the game vs KSU. If he's going to have a long NFL career then he cannot push himself like in college. The speed and physicality at the next level will certainly cut his career very short. I don't want to see that happen.
