DETROIT (WWJ) A crash in Detroit left two Michigan State Police troopers hospitalized.

In a statement on X; Michigan State Police Second District said troopers from the Metro South Post were investigating a traffic crash when the driver of a Ford F-150 did not move over and hit the fully marked patrol car—on I-96 at Joy Road on Sunday (10/13) around 2:30 a.m.

Both troopers were injured in the crash and taken to the hospital “for medical attention”, State Police said.

    Their conditions were not released.

The patrol car was badly damaged, according to State Police.

The 20-year-old at-fault driver from Novi was “determined to be impaired” and taken into custody pending prosecutor review, State Police said.

“Once again, we see someone who decided to get behind the wheel while impaired,” First Lieutenant Mike Shaw said. “This crash could have been a lot worse. We are reminding drivers to not get behind the wheel while impaired. There are too many other options available.”

Twenty year old? He shouldn't have been drunk, let alone driving. Who gave him the alcohol. Charge them too.
