When I was still a kid running a paper route in Denver there was a guy on my route who had a Pontiac Tempest raptor that had a turbocharged straight six... a '64 I believe. It had another name on the hood, but I can't remember what it was. I know he had retired from GM. I tried HARD to buy that car, but he wanted the astronomical price of a thousand bucks. Might as well have been a million. I just remembered, the engine was called a Blue Streak or something like that. Any one recognize the description?

The second turbocharged car to hit the market also came from GM. Turbocharged engines were available in Corvairs in 1962 through at least 1965.
