Bears lose another DB to injury vs. Jaguars

Thank goodness the Chicago Bears get a bye week after Sunday’s game in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Already down two starting defensive backs on Sunday in safety Jaquan Brisker and cornerback Tyrique Stevenson , the Bears lost another one in the third quarter.

Cornerback Kyler Gordon suffered a hamstring injury and was quickly ruled out of the rest of the game.

The Jaguars took advantage of Gordon’s absence, cashing in with a touchdown a short time after the defensive back was sidelined.

That score also brought Jacksonville within two scores of Chicago, 21-10.

Earlier in the game, the Bears lost long snapper Scott Daly to injury, which forced tight end Cole Kmet into emergency long snapping duties.

Hopefully, neither injury is serious but the Bears will at least get an extra week to determine their severity and make any roster moves, if necessary.

The turf at Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium in London unfortunately has a bad history with injuries for NFL players. Safety Lewis Cine suffered a compound leg fracture a few years ago when playing for the Minnesota Vikings, and several other injuries have happened during international games in the past. Last fall, Von Miller called the turf at Tottenham Stadium one of the worst he’s played on.

Chicago is already seeing that firsthand.
