There are a lot of transplants in Florida who have family in other corners of the country. It is time to at least start thinking about getting those Holiday gifts and cards on their way.

In anticipation of the upcoming Holiday season, the United States Postal Service (USPS) has published recommended shipping dates to ensure mail and parcels arrive in time for Christmas Day. This year December 25th falls on a Saturday.

In a press release from October 8th, the USPS issued the following guidelines for pre-Christmas deliveries in the lower 48 states:

    • USPS Ground Advantage service: Dec. 18
    • First-Class Mail service: Dec. 18
    • Priority Mail service: Dec. 19
    • Priority Mail Express service: Dec. 21

The cut-off dates for items being sent to Alaska and Hawaii are as follows:

    • USPS Ground Advantage service: Dec. 16
    • First-Class Mail service: Dec. 18
    • Priority Mail service: Dec. 19
    • Priority Mail Express service: Dec. 20

More information for international and Military addresses can be found here

The press release does urge customers to plan ahead and get those Holiday gifts and greetings in the mail as early as possible.
