Boston Red Sox first baseman and slugger Triston Casas is one of the best players on the roster, and one of the players with the most rumors about getting traded. For Casas, he doesn’t really care, and respects whatever the team wants to do .

“I think that the team and the organization should continue to strive for a championship whether I’m in the plans or not… I want to be a part of the plans to make that happen, but if not, and they want to seek an outside source for me to try to bolster the roster, that’s well within their ability.”

Casas played in only 63 games this season, and hit .241/.337/.462/.800 with 13 homers. If he played the whole season, he could have helped win a bunch of key games.

A lot of Sox fans really want to see him go, too. Jared Carrabis , radio and podcast host for everything Red Sox, doesn’t think it’s in the team’s best interest to deal Casas.

If Casas can get one more healthy season and show he is a core part of the team, the Sox will probably offer him a hefty, long-term contract so they can have a first baseman and slugger for years to come.
