Calls Mount For Removal of Super Bowl Winning NFL Coach On Sunday

On Tuesday, Robert Saleh became the first NFL head coach to be fired this season. New York Jets owner Woody Johnson let Saleh go after the team flew back to the States following a 23-17 defeat to the Minnesota Vikings in London in Week 5.

Saleh wasn't the only head coach going overseas on the heat seat this year.

Head coach Doug Pederson felt his chair become a little toasty when the Jacksonville Jaguars started the season 0-4. The Jaguars got a much-needed 37-34 victory at home against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5.

After having travel issues earlier in the week due to Hurricane Milton, the 1-4 Jaguars struggled against a suddenly hot Chicago Bears (winners of three straight games) team at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams threw four touchdown passes as the Bears dominated the Jaguars in London. Jacksonville fell to 1-5 on the season after an embarrassing 35-16 loss.

NFL fans took to social media to call for the Jaguars to fire Pederson before the team flies back after their Week 7 contest against the New England Patriots at Wembley Stadium.

"The Jaguars would probably fire Doug Pederson if they lose this game but they really can’t because they are in London again next week," One fan commented . "The NFL should do the right thing and flex them out of SNF. This is a pathetic excuse for an NFL team. Trevor Lawrence has 3 points and is 1-4."

"Please fire Doug Pederson Jaguars," a frustrated fan advocated .

"If they fire Doug Pederson in between London games do you think they'll make him pay for his own airfare getting back," one poster asked . "Or will they have him take an extremely awkward flight home with the rest of the team?"

"The jaguars are absolutely awful," a fan wrote . "No chance that Doug pederson returns to America with a job. This is just embarrassing. Terrible tackling. No challenge when a knee was down. He looks like he just doesn’t care. I’d fire him at halftime if I owned the team. What a joke."

"If doug pederson does not get fired this afternoon that is an embarrassment and complete systematic failure," posted another.

"Fire Doug Pederson right now, leave him in London," begged a fan.

"You cannot fire Robert Saleh and not fire Doug Pederson," suggested a poster.

Pederson is now 19-21 in his third season with the Jaguars. The Jaguars finished with a 9-8 record in each of his first two seasons in Jacksonville.  The head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles' win in Super Bowl 52 is now 61-58-1 overall as a head coach in the league.
