Good afternoon everone. A vigorous upper level low pressure system representing our final push of cool to cold air, is starting to push through the Great Lakes region. Ahead of it, strong to severe thunderstorms are developing across parts of Winsconsin and the U.P. of Michigan.

Radar has indicated strong winds and possible rotation with some of these storms as they push east and near Lake Michigan along the Wisconsin shoreline. For this reason, the National Weather Service has issued Special Marine Warnings for possible waterspout activity in the region. Sudden strong winds causing locally rough water and/or waterspouts can damage or overturn vessels in short notice.

On land, we will continue to see heavy showers and thunderstorms across the area, possibly into lower Michigan if these storms survive the trip across the lake. Look for locally strong winds, small hail, frequent lightning, torrential rain and the continuation of lake hazards; including the risk of waterspouts.
