According to a new report by the Portland Press Herald, a Portland-based restaurant and cocktail bar is closing its doors for good today. According to the report, The North Point announced that today would be their last day in business.

The popular restaurant, owned by brothers Dan and Noah Talmatch, first opened in February 2013 on Silver Street. The restaurant was well-known for its specialty cocktails, wine, craft beer, and shareable plates.

The brothers released a statement saying that it was not an easy decision to close the establishment. However, "rising costs" and "decreasing sales" left them no choice but to shut down.
