Dozens injured in drone attack in northern Israel

At least 67 people have been injured in a drone attack on the northern Israeli town of Binyamina, according to the national emergency service Magen David Adom.

Four of the injured have life-threatening injuries, while 19 others suffered moderate to serious injuries in the attack, some 60 kilometres north of Tel Aviv, in the Haifa district.

The Islamist Hezbollah militia in Lebanon claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it had fired a "squadron of attack drones" at an Israeli military training camp in the town.

Israeli broadcasters report that many emergency services are at the scene of the attack and that no warning sirens had been turned on before the projectile hit.

Recently, the Hezbollah militia in Lebanon and the Houthi militia in Yemen, both allied to Iran, have launched combat drones towards Israel. On Friday a drone attack launched from Lebanon damaged buildings in the seaside resort of Herzliya near Tel Aviv.
