Southern California is bracing for a shift in weather patterns as an upper-level low pressure system moves southward through Nevada, bringing cooler temperatures and a deeper marine layer through Tuesday. The National Weather Service in San Diego reported that this weekend's slow cooling trend has resulted in crisp morning lows, with some areas like Big Bear Lake, Ramona, and Mt. Laguna dipping into the 30s.

As the Catalina Eddy currently influences weather conditions over Catalina Island, residents can expect higher cloud bases and foggy conditions, especially in higher coastal terrains. Morning fog is beginning to clear near San Diego, with sunny skies expected to return to the beaches later this morning.

Forecasts indicate that temperatures will remain slightly below average along the coast and slightly above average in desert areas through Tuesday. However, further cooling is anticipated later in the week as another upper-level trough tracks across the Great Basin.
