The National Weather Service in Sacramento reports that Northern California will experience near-normal temperatures, light winds, and dry weather today into early next week. This pleasant weather is expected to change midweek as a new system approaches, bringing cooler temperatures and potential precipitation.

As of this morning, mostly clear to partly cloudy skies are observed across interior Northern California, with lingering cloud cover in the central Sacramento Valley expected to move eastward overnight. Although light winds are predominant, there remains a 20% to 30% chance of fog or low stratus development, especially in the Sierra foothills, due to the moist air left behind by yesterday's quick-moving system.

Temperatures today are projected to reach the 80s in the Delta, Valley, and foothills, while higher elevations will see highs in the 70s to low 80s. Light to locally breezy winds will prevail, but significant fire weather concerns are not anticipated early in the week. However, localized elevated fire weather conditions may arise, particularly in areas with a mix of moderate humidity recovery and downslope winds.
