Cape Cod Commuters: Brace For Bourne Bridge Temporary Lane Restriction

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Cape Cod Canal has announced a temporary lane restriction on the Bourne Bridge for Tuesday, October 15th, 2024. This short-term traffic adjustment is necessary to facilitate essential inspection and maintenance work on the bridge.

The lane restriction on the Bourne Bridge is scheduled for Tuesday, October 15th, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. During this period, northbound traffic (heading off Cape) will be limited to one lane, while both southbound lanes (heading onto the Cape) will remain open.

Travelers should note that no wide loads will be permitted to cross the bridge while the lane restrictions are in place. These temporary changes are necessary to accommodate the planned inspection and maintenance work, ensuring the bridge's continued safety and functionality. Travelers planning to use the Bourne Bridge during this time should anticipate potential delays and plan their journeys accordingly.

For the most up-to-date information about this temporary lane restriction, visit the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Cape Cod Canal's Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CapeCodCanalVisitorCenter.
