College Football Fans Upset with Where Oregon's Ranked in AP Top 25

The Oregon Ducks came away with a massive 32-31 win over the Ohio State Buckeyes in the mammoth clash of the third and second ranked teams in the nation, respectively.

This was the Ducks second win over a highly touted opponent, as they beat the Boise State Broncos earlier in the year in another tight thriller, with the final score coming in at 37-34.

As a result, Oregon fans were expecting the team to move up in the newest AP Top 25 poll, with the top spot not being out of the question for them. And while the Ducks did move up to second on the list, folks were confused as to why they weren't first considering how they now have two big wins under their belt this year.

@JamesCrepea summarized the situation on X, formerly Twitter, saying "Oregon has 2 of the top 9 wins in the country based on ranking of opponents but still is not No. 1."

Fans were upset with pretty much every aspect of the voting, with @DouglasTS saying "I did expect to have more 1st place votes."

Not all hope was lost, though, as @ProtestaBloc claimed "We’ll get it soon enough. This season feels different."

Oregon has certainly been dominant to this point, but voters appear to feel as if Texas has the better all around team, which has led to them settling in right behind them for the time being. While that point may be tough for Ducks fans to swallow, it's clear that they have put some distance between themselves and the teams behind them.

Chances are Oregon won't let this decision take the wind out of their sails, but they will have to turn their attention to Week 8, as they have a battle with Purdue coming up on Friday night at 8 PM EST.

First off, a 1 point win is not massive. It's barely a win. Second, Oregon barely won 2 highly contentious games, and they're bitching that they're #2? Texas has had big wins this season. They deserve the #1 slot.
