Some small dogs have big voices that catch others off guard when they're least expecting it. This is exactly what happened when Kaido the Australian Shepherd gave his best "awoo" in the back of an Uber, scaring the driver into thinking Kaido was not dog at all, but a wolf. Honestly with that howl, who can prove he's not?!

Dog Dad Matt Fernandez can't help but giggle at the confusion in this funny clip, and it's clear why. Kaido is just out here doing Shepherd things, so no real need to worry, sir! Check out the hilarious scene play out in real time!

This very vocal pup is a major cutie who gets even cuter with that wolf-like howl. Is he summoning his wolf ancestors? Singing the song of his people to Dog Dad Matt Fernandez ( @mattyandkaido )? Or, is this all just an audition for World's Most Adorable Dog? No matter the answer, Kaido's legion of followers are amused at the driver's reaction because it's too funny!

"Hahahah the Uber driver went home and told his family that he drove a wolf," one person wrote.

"He was like, okay no, but seriously, is that a wolf in my backseat?" another said.

"I'm dying. Is that a wolf, I can't lmao," another added.

To be fair, passing sirens make a lot of us howl, am I right? Keep at it, buddy!

    Why Dogs Howl at Sirens

There are a few reasons dogs howl at sirens , according to PetMD . Howling in general can stem from your pup trying to communicate emotions, pain or anxiety to you or other dogs, they might want attention, or it's just a reaction to the pitch. It depends on the dog and situation, obviously, because some dogs, like Huskies, are big howlers while Chihuahuas aren't.

When it comes to sirens, some awoo because they believe the sound is from another howling dog. This is something wolves do to communicate their position or request for help, so Kaido was being polite to not leave that other dog—aka the siren!—hanging. He's cool like that.

Dogs also might think the noise is a threat to their environment or people, so they're warning everyone about the danger. If they howl, they think they're scaring the threat away, which is way too sweet. And remember, a dog's ears can hear pitches up to 20,000 hertz (Hz), and frequencies as high as 45,000 to 67,000 Hz, in all directions. Sometimes it's a lot for them, so howling is just one way they perceive getting it to stop.

Kaido was just doing his due diligence in any event, but clearly, he is a wolf doing wolf things!
