Utah Officially Drops Out of the AP Top 25 for the First Time This Season

The Utah Utes are officially out of the top 25 after their embarrassing loss to the Arizona State Sun Devils, and if they don't fix their glaring issues, it could be a long while before they are once again a nationally ranked program.

Despite losing to the Arizona Wildcats before their bye week, the Utes managed to hold on to a ranked spot and even moved up to 16th heading into Tempe. However, with the loss, they fell out of the top 25 while other Big 12 programs, such as Iowa State (9), BYU(13), and Kansas State(17), moved up.

With the season now halfway over, Utah still has to face undefeated Iowa State and BYU, and while both will be held at Rice-Eccles Stadium, pessimism among the fans is already starting to set in, and if the team can't get a positive result against TCU this weekend, RES may not be the fortress it has been in recent seasons.

A quarterback debacle that has yet to be settled along with playcalling mistakes in every facet of the game and a lack of secure tackling has given the team a lot to iron out in a short amount of time, and the Utah faithful will be keeping a keen eye on how they bounce back against the Horned Frogs on October 19th and 8:30 pm.
