Knicks give moving tribute video to Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo in return MSG

The New York Knicks gave a moving tribute to Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo i their returns to Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

Randle and DiVincenzo, of course, were traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Karl-Anthony Towns trade .

The timing of the deal was somewhat awkward, as it occurred just days before training camp and ahead of a preseason game between the Wolves and Knicks.

Many NBA players get tribute videos or announcements when they return to their previous team's arena for the first time, and Randle and DiVincenzo were no exception. The only question was whether the Knicks would wait until the regular-season matchup in January to show a video or do it in the preseason, which is a smaller stage.

The Knicks decided to get it done early.

The video first paid tribute to Randle, with a voiceover of Randle talking about playing in MSG, while his biggest highlights as a member of the Knicks played. Randle serves as an important player in Knicks history, as his rise to a three-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA member kickstarted the Knicks' turnaround.

DiVincenzo's video was slightly shorter, but of course, included his go-ahead three vs. the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 2 of the first round — one of the best plays any Knick has produced in the past decade. DiVincenzo played just one season with the Knicks, but left a mark as the single-season record-holder for three-pointers made.
