The Acolyte premiered on Disney+ on June 4th, 2024, as another installment in the Star Wars franchise. The series follows the story of “An investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master against a dangerous warrior from his past. As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems.” The Acolyte was created by Lesley Headland and starred Lee Jung-Jae, Amanda Stenberg, Manny Jacinto, and Charlie Barnett.

The team did not reach the success they were looking for. IMDb users rank the TV series at 4.1/10 with 124 thousand ratings. This makes it safe to say that the show was canceled due to poor audience reactions, but that wasn't the only reason. The show was created and developed by David Shore and was broadcast by the ABC Network. The show stars Freddy Highmore, Richard Schiff, and Hill Harper.
