France enters this match hoping to continue its form and dominance in the October international window. On the other hand, Belgium drew their match against Italy by a 2-2 scoreline. The Frenchmen lost their first game of the Nations League campaign to the mighty Italians. Barcola found the net in the very first minute of the game, and from thereon, Italy went on to secure a solid comeback by registering three goals in their account, stealing those important three points from the French team.

The red Belgium army has recently been seen lacking a bit in terms of their results due to their performances. They have just won their tie against Israel, which isn’t considered enough to qualify to go further in the tournament.

In a group considered the ‘group of death’, where the likes of France and Italy are also involved, Belgium will have to push even harder if they are to secure their spot in the quarterfinals.

Romelu Lukaku was once again left out of the squad, despite showing strong form at Napoli. The striker explained that he remained in Naples to focus on regaining his fitness after missing most of the preseason. Thibaut Courtois is currently sidelined with an injury. Meanwhile, Matz Sels has also withdrawn after picking up a knock.

France

France has succeeded in both their last matches against Belgium and Israel, respectively. They faced a miserable defeat on the very first matchday but have significantly shown improvement since then. Currently sitting in the first spot in the group, France will feel comfortable and confident about this fixture, as it seems like an easy win.

France will be missing Kylian Mbappe, who withdrew from the squad, possibly due to being rushed back too soon by his club after a recent injury. Antoine Griezmann announced his international retirement late last month. He stated he no longer wanted to be part of the team if he wasn’t a regular starter, despite previously being one of Deschamps’s key players.
